AKEMI TOP SHIELD Transparent is a colourless, ready-to-use high-performance impregnation developed for the professional protection of absorbent stone, quartz and ceramic surfaces. Its highly concentrated formula penetrates the capillary structure of the material without sealing the pores and provides powerful protection against water, oil, grease, dirt and staining.

The product is suitable for natural stone, including marble, limestone, granite, gneiss and porphyry, as well as cotto, terrazzo, porcelain stoneware, ceramic and quartz surfaces. It performs especially well on critical rough finishes such as ground, flamed, brushed, blasted and satin surfaces while also being suitable for polished surfaces.

TOP SHIELD Transparent generally causes no colour enhancement on polished surfaces. Depending on the material, a certain degree of colour deepening may occur on non-polished surfaces without creating a greasy appearance. The product is weather resistant, non-yellowing and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Its high concentration of active substances provides approximately three to six times greater coverage than conventional impregnations, with coverage of up to approximately 40 m² per litre. The protective effect begins to develop quickly and reaches full performance after approximately 24 hours.

Once fully cured, treated surfaces are safe for contact with food, as certified by an independent German testing institute. The product has also achieved emission class A+. It is suitable for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, shelves, displays, tables, window sills and other heavily used surfaces requiring premium protection without substantially changing their natural appearance.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Ensure that the surface is clean, completely dry and free from coatings, dirt and cleaning-product residue.
After wet cleaning, allow the material to dry completely, usually for at least one to two days.
Always prepare a test area to assess protection, possible colour enhancement, compatibility and product consumption.
Shake the bottle briefly before use.
Apply at a surface and ambient temperature of 15–25 °C.
Apply one or two coats wet-on-wet using an impregnation pad and spread evenly with light pressure.
A brush, cloth or suitable spraying equipment may also be used when appropriate.
Allow the product to penetrate for approximately 20 minutes.
Completely remove all unabsorbed product with a suitable cloth before it begins to dry.
Rep polishable surfaces until any haze has been removed.
Repeat the treatment if the desired effect has not been achieved or the product was applied unevenly.
Protect the treated surface from rain and moisture for approximately two to three hours.
Allow approximately 24 hours for the full protective effect to develop.
Provide sufficient ventilation for approximately two to three days when used in food preparation areas.

Always test the product on a small and inconspicuous area before application.
Not suitable for glazed or non-absorbent surfaces or plaster.
The product may intensify natural structures and colour variations unevenly on certain stones.
Excess product can cause haze and spotting and must be removed before drying.
Do not apply to surfaces heated by direct sunlight or underfloor heating.
Protect the treated surface from direct sunlight, rain and moisture during application and initial curing.
Limestone cannot be protected against damage caused by acidic substances.
Aggressive cleaning products and pressure washers may damage the impregnation and the treated material.
Spills of juice, vinegar, alcohol, cosmetics and other aggressive substances should be removed immediately.
Avoid inhaling vapours or spray mist and ensure adequate ventilation.
Keep away from heat, sparks, flames and other ignition sources.
Wear suitable protective gloves and eye protection.
Keep out of reach of children.
